The significance of Asr Prayer
As a Muslim we should know the importance of Salah in Islam after Imaan. Salah/prayer is the key to success in life and after the death. No one can imagine the rewards of Namaz but Allah knows. Allah says in the Quran: “Safeguard your Salaah and (especially) the middle Salaah (i.e. Asr Salah) and stand before Allah with humility” (Surah al-Baqarah).
The Salah means to perform it at its appointed time and not to be late. It is known to be the middle prayer of the day when work at their peak and everyone busy at their work then this middle prayer come, one of the Muslim prayer that comes in the middle of five Muslim prayers (Fajar, Zuhr, Asr, Maghrib, Isha). According to this prayer Hazrat Muhammad (S.A.W) said:”Whoever performs the two 'cold' salaahs (i.e. Fajr and Asr) shall enter Jannah” (al-Bukhaari and Muslim).
Regarding this Asr Prayer many virtuous are described like before offering this Salah/prayer, four rakaat Sunnah will be perform which has great rewards from Allah Subhanahu WA ta’la. The salat timing are not constant its vary from season to season, but Asr would be the middle prayer it will never change its sequence.
Unluckily, some people love to resist going to mosque (Masjid) for offering Asr Prayer because this time the office work is at the peak means busy routine. In other Zuhr prayer is also has same situation that will occur in the busy schedule of the day.
The People who missing their Asr Salah/Prayer, The Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W) said: “He who misses his Asr Salaah (i.e. reads it after its specified time) is as if he has lost his wife, children and all his wealth” (Sahih Muslim) According to this Hadith we know the significance of Asr prayer, but many businessmen or shopkeeper still open/busty to their work at the time of Asr. If they use salat reminder or any other source to perform their Islamic salat on time, then it will very good gesture to others. Pray Allah to give us strength, wealth and help to perform Muslim prayers on time or otherwise using prayer alert or salat alarm.
